Professionals
Henry D. Babcock, Chairman Henry Babcock joined
the firm as a portfolio manager in 1976 and became a partner in
1980. He developed and headed the personal finance department
before becoming Chief Executive Officer in 1999. Prior to this, he ran an
affiliated venture capital company that was active in the U.S. and abroad. From
1966-1969 he and his two co-founders ran a Southeast Asia trading and
construction company. Henry graduated from Yale University in 1962 with a BA and
in 1970 he received an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
He also served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam for two years.
Brian J. Keenan, Chief Executive
Officer Brian Keenan joined Train, Babcock in 1997 after 20
years in both private and commercial banking. Brian previously ran a Private
Banking Unit at the Bank of New York that managed the investment, credit and
financial planning needs of their clients. Before that, he was a Group Vice
President of First American Bank with responsibility for the lending, marketing
and operations management of their New York City offices. Brian graduated from
New York University’s College of Business with a BS in 1979 and from the
University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School Management Program for Bankers in
1992.
John H. Rogicki, Chairman Investment
Committee John Rogicki joined Train, Babcock as Senior
Portfolio Manager in 1990. He was previously with Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of
New York since 1971. During his last 10 years at Morgan, he was a Vice President
in the Trust and Investment Division where he managed over $500 million of
assets for high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations and advised
clients on estate and tax planning issues. He received a BA in Accounting from
St. Francis College in 1971 and an MBA in Economics from St. John’s University
in 1976.
Pamela L. W. Raviol, Director, Portfolio
Manager Pam Raviol began her professional investment career as
an Associate with Train, Babcock in 1986. In January 1992, she became a
Portfolio Manager with responsibility for client portfolios and wealth
management. Pam graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in Economics in
1986.
Isabel E. Collins, Director, Portfolio
Manager Penny Collins has been with Train, Babcock since 1981.
She began as an Associate and was later promoted to Portfolio Manager with
responsibility for client portfolios and wealth management. Penny is a graduate
of Vassar College, BA 1966, and earned her Certificate in Financial Planning in
1986. She began her professional career in 1966 in Manufacturers Hanover Trust
Company's credit and personal trust training program. From 1971- 1975, she was a
corporate bond trader at Mabon Nugent & Co. From 1975-1978, Penny was with
Deak National Bank where she was a liaison with Spanish speaking clients and
assisted in the planning and implementation of a Latin American customer
development program.
Diane Montague, Chief Investment
Officer Diane Montague joined Train, Babcock as Chief
Investment Officer in 2007, with nearly 25 years experience in the
industry. Diane worked at JP Morgan from 1983-1985 as a Trust and
Estate attorney, then as a portfolio manager and fund manager from
1986-1996. Diane continued on to manage portfolios at Fiduciary Trust
Company from 1996-2000, From 2000-2002, Diane served as Managing Director and
Head of U.S. Equities at Lipper and Co. From 2003-2006 Diane was a Managing
Director at Lehman Brothers' Neuberger Berman Division, first co-managing The
Horizon Group, then managing The Monague Group.
Mark W. Stodden, Research Associate Mark Stodden joined Train, Babcock in 2006. Prior to
joining the firm, Mark spent 10 years at AT&T Corp. in the company's network
engineering and finance departments. At AT&T, Mark held technical and
business planning roles, including capital budgeting, network planning and
product management. Mark holds a BSEE from Union College and an MS from Stevens
Institute of Technology. Mark is also an MBA Candidate at Seton Hall
University and a level II Candidate in the CFA program.
Virginia R. Lynch, Tax Exempt Bond
Specialist Virginia Lynch was with The Bank of New York as a
Vice President in their Personal Fixed Income Division for the past 23 years.
She managed over 120 tax exempt bond portfolios for clients in the Private
Banking Division for the past 12 years. Before that, Virginia was the senior
trader on the Tax Exempt Desk where she was responsible for buying and selling
fixed income instruments for the portfolio managers in both the personal asset
division and the bank’s trust divisions. Virginia began her career at Blyth,
Eastman Dillon & Co. as a tax-exempt bond trader.
Neal B. Freeman, Advisory Board Neal
Freeman is a successful entrepreneur and experienced corporate director. He has
founded three companies in the media and communications field, including The
Blackwell Corporation, a Peabody and Emmy award-winning production company,
which he now serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was a longtime
Director of Comsat Corporation until it was sold to Lockheed Martin and a
Director of GRC International until it was sold to ATT, both in 2000. He serves
also as Chairman of the Foundation Management Institute, which advises family
foundations on governance and grantmaking. He received a BA from Yale University
in 1962.
